Safety & Care for our Travel Clips & Teethers

The safety of our products is of utmost importance to us, at Coocute. We are always double, triple checking the quality of our products for our kiddos, and we want to do the same for yours.

Our Travel Clips & Teethers are:

Our clips and teethers are tested at a government- accredited lab in the US to meet and exceed all safety standards. All our products are made and tested to comply with the America and Canada standards. They are compliant with the ASTM F963-17 safety regulations for toys and compliant to CPSC, CPSIA and the CCPSA toy standard in Canada. 


SILICONE

Our silicone products are free of all those nasties and have been tested to ensure that they comply with North American chemical safety standards. They are free from toxic chemicals, BPA, lead, mercury, PVC, latex, phthalates, cadmium or heavy metals.

 

WOOD

​

Our wood rings are sustainable sourced from a small Canadian woodshop that uses the highest quality, sustainable hard Canadian Maple Wood. It is important for us to support small businesses, and their rings are 100% natural and chemical free.

Safety Warning:

 

  • Never leave a child alone OR unattended with our Travel Duo pacifier clips or teethers. Our pacifier clips and teethers require adult supervision at all times. 

 

  • Always inspect our products before use and dispose of them if there are any signs of damage. Dispose immediately, if you notice a crack or breakage in any of our wooden beads or rings that are part of our clips and teethers design. DO NOT continue to give them to a child. Coocute is not responsible for cracks, splinters or damaged wood due to wear and tear or improper use or care. Wood may be slight variant and may be more textured in some areas due to its natural style. 

 

  • Cords, clips and clasps are not designed to be chewed or placed in the mouths.

 

  • Never tie the pacifier clip around a child's neck or allow a child to use it while sleeping.

  • DO NOT attach the clip to any bibs, loose items of clothing (e.g. collars, open jackets etc.) or loose swaddles/ blankets as this opposes a strangulation risk. 

 

  • Our Travel Duo pacifier clips are NOT toys, they contain small parts. Small objects and beads can present a choking hazard for small children.

 

The beads on our pacifier clips and teethers are secured carefully with concealed knots, do not alter our clips and teethers in any way, as you may impact the safety design of our clip. 

 

CARE

Now that you have this super cute Travel Duo Clip and Teether set… How do you take care of it?

 

Since they are handcrafted with extra love, they will also need a little love back from you!

 

Our Canadian Maple wood is naturally antibacterial and our 100% food grade silicone is easy to clean.

 

DO'S

​

  • Spot cleaning with a cloth and warm, soapy water is sufficient after each use. Then lay flat to air dry. DO NOT STERILIZE.

  • The wood on your piece will arrive untreated and we recommend that you treat immediately with a food grade oil like olive oil or coconut oil or alternatively make a 50/50 mixture of organic beeswax and olive oil.

  • The wood may feel dry to touch when it has become wet, or may look dull over time. This is an easy fix, rub them with a 50/50 mixture of organic beeswax and olive oil or use coconut oil only. Leave the treatment on for a couple hours until soaked in, and then wipe off any excess.

  • You can store the clean clip and teether set in our provided cloth travel bags.

 

  • For sanitary reasons, it is recommended to replace all baby products every few months. 

 

DON’TS

​

  • Wood does not respond well to extreme changes in temperature. Never sterilize our products in boiling water. 

  • Do not place in the dishwasher or microwave our clips, this will effectively the integrity and safety of the pacifier clip. 

  • Do not submerge wood items under water for any length of time.

  • Do not put our Clips and Teethers that are made with maple wood in the freezer or fridge.

  • Avoid getting the metal clips wet. If so, dry immediately with a towel to prevent tarnishing.

  • The stainless steel clips may become warm if exposed to hot temperatures. Always test the clip's temperature prior to giving to baby and attach away from bare skin.
